The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has commiserated with the government and people of Yobe state on the death of 47 students killed in Ashura in Potiskum in Yobe, on Monday.
The explosion at a boys’ school in the town was set off by a suicide bomber dressed as a student.
“NANS has also conveyed his deepest sympathies to all parents who lost their beloved children in the dreadful attack on the Government Science Secondary School,” a statement by the NANS President said.
The NANS condemns the dastardly murder of the students and called on the Federal Government to ensure that all those responsible for the senseless murder of so many promising students and the continuing acts of terrorism across the country are brought to justice.
According to NANS President, Tijani Usman Shehu, the country will ultimately overcome the current security challenges imposed by domestic terrorists and their foreign allies, with the dedication of its Armed Forces and national security agencies, as well as the continued support and cooperation of all patriotic citizens.
