The Yobe Government says it has approved the sum of N7.2 billion for the execution of new projects and the competition of some existing ones.
The state’s Commissioner of Education, Mr Mohammed Lamin, disclosed this while addressing newsmen on Wednesday in Damaturu.
He said the state Executive Council, after deliberation, came up with the following resolutions- furnishing and equipping of the newly constructed 3 units of 4 bedroom bungalows at the Government House at N1.8 million.
Lamin said other projects are – the civil works at the General Hospital Potiskum, at the cost of N1.3 million, while N4.2 billion was approved as additional cost for the ongoing construction of International Cargo Airport in Damaturu.
“The council also approved the construction of 2 kilometres road and 4 kilometres concrete drainage at General Hospital Gaidam, and 2.5 kilometres road and 5 kilometres concrete drainage at General Hospital Postikum, at N1.4 billion,” he said.
Lamin said the council also approved payment of tuition fees for the state’s students at various higher institutions of learning across the country for the 2018/2019 academic session to the tune of N9.9 million.
