By Gracious Akujobi Super Eagles head coach, Stephen Keshi has reassured that with adequate preparation Nigeria will excel at the 2014 World Cup holding in Brazil.
Speaking during the recent FIFA workshop organised for the World Cup bound teams, Keshi said the world cup is not always about big names but about team work and commitment on and off the pitch.
“I know that player for player we are not in the same class with Argentina but we have the spirit and mentality to play any side in Brazil. “No team gives me jitters, I have respect for all the teams in Nigeria’s group but I fear none of them” he said.
On the gains of the FIFA workshop, Keshi divulged that FIFA men dissected all the 32 teams’ pattern and style of play and gave ideas on how to counter tactics of opponents before and during a game.
“I am sure all the coaches that went to that workshop in Brazil came out much more enlightened and now know what to expect at the World Cup.It was good for us all and I will try and impact all I learnt on my officials and players” Keshi stated. Keshi, currently holidaying with his family in the United States, is expected to welcome his players when they all converge to take on the Mexican national team in an international friendly on March 5.
