By Gracious Akujobi Ahead of FIFA Women World Cup in Canada, the Super Falcons will lock horns with New Zealand and host Canada in friendly matches in June, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has said.
This piece of cheering news was dropped by the chairperson of the Nigeria National Women League, Dilichukwu Onyedinma who also disclosed that the Super Falcons earlier billed to open camp on February 12 will now report to camp in Abuja next week.
Onyedinma who is also an executive member of NFF said the original plan was to open the camp after the February 14 election that has now been postponed so the federation quickly re-adjusted the Falcons program to start next week.
According to her Super Falcons player are expected to report to camp by next week to begin preparation for the Olympic and All Africa Games and the world cup
“The NFF has been able to arrange two grade A friendly matches for Super Falcons to tune up for the world cup. These games which we hope will be good test for our girls will be against world cup host Canada and New Zealand” she stated
The Imo state born football administrator also disclosed that the Super Falcons will also use their All Africa and Olympic Games qualifiers in April to prepare for the world cup.
