Participants at a National security workshop that held in Jos have described inter-agencies collaboration as one of the avenues that could curtail the security challenges in the country, a statement by Sunday James, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) in Abuja on Friday.
This was one of the outcomes contained in a communique of the workshop organised by the 3rd Armoured Division of the Nigeria Army in Jos.
The communique urged various security agencies in the country to continue to create synergy in order to maintain a healthy working relationship, share intelligence and data, to ensure security of the nation.
It added that given the changing times, caused by activities on Social Media, security agencies needed to brace-up to the challenges posed by the coverage of new media, including the speed in disseminating information simultaneously to various audiences.
The communique noted that collaboration among security agencies needs to be reviewed to accommodate issues of mutual respect and trust.
The Workshop, themed: ” Inter-Agency Collaboration: the role of social media in kinetic operations,” had in attendance senior officers of 3 Armoured Division of the Nigerian Army, Jos, Nigeria Immigration Service, the Navy, Air Force and other security agencies. (NAN)
