By Gracious Akujobi After the mid-week matches on Wednesday, teams playing in the Women Premier Footbal League would once again be in action this weekend to conclude the first stanza of the 2014 season.
However, many of the teams would want to go on the two weeks break with good results at the end of the day. Delta Queens would host Edo Queens with what looks like a local derby, but considering the not too impressive result they got at the mid week in Yenegoa, nothing short of victory is expected from the home team. FC Taraba Queens would host Bayelsa Queens in Jalingo. Both teams would want to retire for the first stanza with a win. But the home team may have an edge.
Confluence Queens would confront Osun Babes in Lokoja. The visitors would want to rely on the likes of Christy Ohaerika, Shade Ogunniyi, Nwaeze Anthonia, Gloria Obilamma and Ganiyat Adeleke to give the Wada girls a run for their money. While likes of Onoja Veronica, Nwogu Nkechi, Ikeh Ginika, Oge Tina, Joy Iroezi among others may seal victory for the home girls. Ibom Angels who are still wondering what befell them in Osogbo at the mid week, would turn their vengeance on Adamawa Queens in Uyo this weekend. Pelican stars would host Sunshine Queens, while Nasarawa Amazons would be guest to Rivers Angels in Port Harcourt.
