A 45-year-old woman , Sekinat Tijani, was on Thursday docked in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, for allegedly stealing N50,000 from a loan agency.
The police charged Tijani with theft.
The Prosecution Counsel, Insp Femi Omilana, told the court that the defendant committed the offence between January 2022 and April 1, 2022.
Omilana alleged that Tijani stole the money which she borrowed from a Penayo Multipurpose Venture Ltd, Odinjo, Ibadan.
Omilana alleged that the defendant borrowed the money with a promise to pay back but failed to do so.
He said the offence contravened the provisions of Section 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The defendant however pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mrs G. Oladele, admitted defendant to bail in the sum of N100, 000 and two sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case until April 29 for hearing. (NAN)
