The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) has asked women to rise up and make meaningful contributions to the nation building.
Wife of the Executive Secretary, NCPC, Mrs Berry Uja, made this call at the Women Convocation Strategic Meeting held at Nigerian Pilgrim Welfare Board (NPWB) on Wednesday in Abuja.
She stressed that women needed to be proactive in the society and use every available opportunity to contribute to nation building..
The meeting was held to strategise on the upcoming 2018 Maiden Women Convocation Pilgrimage.
Uja quoting from the Book of Jeremiah Chapter 12 Verse 1, added that “God gives victory to the righteous even though it might take time but surely they would overcome.
“God will put our spirits together to put something to help this nation to move forward. We need to arise and take our place in the church, government and the market places.
“Nigeria is at a point that it is knotted and God expects us to do something to loosen that knot so that the normal flow for nation building will start.
“Every opportunity the Lord looks up to you to stand up. God gives victory to the righteous, it may take time but we will overcome gloriously.
“Women you are unable to change anything around you without the oracle of God, without the voice of God, we are unable to influence until we receive the counsel of God.
“God is looking for women who will receive the prophetic unction and take advantage of the oracles of God to speak over the land. Things will not change until you seek the prophetic advantage,’’ she said.
Pastor Funke Kasali of Foundation of Truth Church, advised women to take every advantage of the Women Convocation Pilgrimage to equip themselves while in the Holy Land.
Kasali, however, urged women to ensure that they benefit from the skill acquisition programme, particularly in the area of agriculture for granted.
“I want to encourage every woman that has this opportunity to please take advantage of all that the pilgrimage is about and equip yourselves.
“I am aware that there are plans to also do some empowerment on skill acquisition, particularly in the agricultural sector. I know that you are going to come back better than you went.
“I am happy to see that women will take advantage of all the benefits that have been provided and carefully planned by the commission and not just empower themselves spiritually but also empower their minds.
The cleric prayed that God would go with the women and they would begin a journey in spirituality as they embark on their trip to the Holy Land
