Neymar Junior stole the headlines recently after his blockbuster move to Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League.
The Brazilian’s big money transfer, highlighted by astronomic earnings and crazy perks, was accompanied by a spectacular fan presentation reminiscent of that of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.
Following his unveiling, Neymar was billed to make his debut for Al-Hilal against Al-Feiha last Saturday but this did not ultimately happen, SPORTS BRIEF reports.
Given the comments by Neymar’s new coach, Jorge Jesus, fans will have to wait an unspecified amount of time to witness the new signing in action.
Following his side’s 1-1 draw against Al-Feiha, the press quizzed coach Jesus about Neymar’s availability.
The Portuguese manager was quoted by Marca as saying “Neymar is one of the best players in the world and will contribute significantly to our team. He has a minor injury that will prevent him from participating in training for the next few days. The duration of his absence has not been determined yet and I don’t know why he was called up by the national team.”
This news would disappoint Al-Hilal fans, who were eager to see the 31-year-old on the field. READ ALSO:
