Music executive and Mavin Records boss, Michael Collins Ajereh popularly known as Don Jazzy, has revealed that he doesn’t allow his artists to release songs on the same day as singer Wizkid or Asake.
The Mavins record label boss made this known in a podcast interview with Fisayo Fosudo, revealing that allowing artists signed to his label to release projects on the same day as the superstar duo is not a wise decision.
Don Jazzy said that is the reason the record label decided to move the date for music rollouts to Wednesdays or Thursday, because most top artists tend to release their projects on Fridays.
Don Jazzy said, “We (Mavin) are moving from the traditional Friday release date to Wednesdays and Thursdays because there are no more Fridays [without another artiste dropping a song].
“If my artiste is to drop a song or project on a Friday and Wizkid or Asake is also releasing that day, I will move our release date because you don’t want to just die a natural death.”
