The Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC in the September 22, 2018 gubernatorial election in Osun, Alhaji Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola on Saturday said he is vying to succeed the incumbent Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola in order to halt the opposition from destroying the already built legacies of the present administration.
He said the present administration has recorded huge successes in every aspect of life than being allowed to be bastardized by the opposition.
Oyetola made the disclosure at his campaign office, Ogo-Oluwa, Osogbo while playing a host to the Forum of Senior Special Assistants to Governor Aregbesola.
He related his contest for the coveted position to the need to sustain the good works of Governor Aregbesola saying Osun couldn’t afford to be spoiled by anyone.
While Pledging to run an inclusive government if elected, Oyetola assured the residents to keep hope alive and renew their confidence in the fact the ruling party (APC) was ever ready to take Osun to enviable heights ever known in history.
Oyetola who flanked with his campaign Director General, Hon Ajibola Famurewa, described members of the Forum as sensitive factors, adding that the visit remains a sine qua non to victorious path.
According to him, the Aregbesola’s administration has done excellently well to rescue Osun from the ‘entangled doom’ and bondage being plugged to by the PDP government.
“Though facts are not far-fetched for everyone to see and know as we all know how Osun was in the last seven years and how it is now.
“It is only an ingrate that will say Osun has not turned a new leaf particularly in the area of infrastructural development which spread across the nooks and crannies of the state.
“We have seen light here and there, we have seen a clear difference in governance and as a people we cannot afford to allow all these legacies to be destroyed.
“Our primary aim to succeed Governor Aregbesola is to ensure the preservation of his good legacies, build on them and make Osun to be prosperous for all”, Oyetola added.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Forum, Engineer Bashir Lawal said the members of the Forum deemed it necessary to visit him to further establish their unalloyed support for his political ambition.
He pledged to remain resolute in the effort to take the party to victory comes September, 22, noting that no effort will be spared to ensure continuity.
