The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt.-Gen. Faruk Yahaya, has restated that with cooperation of all stakeholders, they would defeat threats bedevilling the country.
Yahaya made the disclosure on Wednesday in Kano, shortly after commissioning some projects at 73 Battalion of the Nigerian Army, Janguza, Kano State.
“It is usual for the chief of army staff to visit army on the ground, I have virtually visited everywhere, it is now time for Kano.
“So, I am on operational visit to three brigade’s area of responsibility. Yesterday, I was in Falgore where we monitored recruitment exercise. I was also at the 3 brigade, and now at the battalion.
“I interacted with the troops, appreciated them and gingered them to continue doing their best.
“And now, together with their commitments, I am pleased to note that we will continue to achieve our mandate.
“And with cooperation of everyone and the stakeholders, we will defeat the threats bedevilling our country in all theatre operations,” he said.
He explained that all what he can do was to support troops on the ground to address some of their challenges to boost their performance.
“We are not relenting, we will continue with the support we are getting from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, to provide all the requirements.
“We will forge ahead, and we will not be deterred by anyone, together with other services and agencies, we will defeat the threats,” he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that some of the projects commissioned were accommodation for officers and soldiers, and Company Offices at Janguza barrack.(NAN)
