By Gracious Akujobi The Coach of Cameroon, Volker Finke, has expressed disappointment at the result of their opening game against Mexico, which they lost by a goal.
Speaking after the Group A game, he said his side deserved to draw the match, taking consolation in the fact that the next game against Croatia would be a must win for them.
“We’re very disappointed with the result; I think we deserved a draw. There’s still all to play for, though, and we’re going to head into the Croatia match with the intention of winning,” he said.
His Mexican counterpart, Miguel Herrera, was however full of praises for the fans that supported them all through.
Herrera said, I’d like to thank the fans that supported us and encouraged us for the duration of the match.
“They need to maintain that confidence in us, because we’ve now got over our first hurdle, and it’s just the start”.
On their next game against the host, Brazil, he had this to say, “We plan to fight tooth and nail against Brazil in order to win the match”.
