Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems has clinched her second Grammy Award, winning Best African Music Performance at the 2025 Grammy Awards.
Tems earned the prestigious accolade for her hit song “Love Me JeJe”, triumphing over strong contenders, including Yemi Alade, Asake, Wizkid, Chris Brown & Davido, and Burna Boy.
Prompt News reports that this milestone follows South African singer Tyla, who won the category’s inaugural award in 2024 with “Water”.
Tems, a dominant force in the music industry, received three nominations at this year’s Grammys, bringing her career total to eight.
She was also nominated for Best Global Music Album (Born in the Wild) and Best R&B Song (Burning).
