A late minute penalty goal scored by Korka Fall was all that Senegal needed to beat Burkina Faso 1-0 to win their second consecutive game in the on-going Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
With this second win, the Terenga Lionesses who also beat Uganda 2-0 on Sunday in their opening match at the Complexe Moulay Abdallah in Rabat have become the first team out of the 12 participating in the competition to qualify for the second round.
In the first half of the game, there were a lot of opportunities but neither of the teams were able to score a goal.
However, the second half was almost ending
goalless, but Korka Fall stepped out in the 84th minute to score an amazing penalty that gave Senegal the win while Burkina Faso has been technically eliminated from the competition.
The Burkinabes lost to Morocco 1-0 in the opening match of the tournament.
