Controversial social media activist Martin Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan has called for the arrest of Raheem Okoya for abusing the naira, emphasizing that everyone must follow the law.
In a six-minute video shared on X (formerly Twitter), he responded to a viral clip that showed Raheem Okoya, son of Nigerian billionaire Rasaq Okoya, allegedly mishandling the naira while a police officer watched.
Although the police officer in the video has been arrested, Raheem Okoya has not yet faced any legal action for his actions.
VeryDarkMan shared his worries in the video, stressing that the law must treat everyone the same, no matter their social standing.
He noted that the police officer in the case has been arrested, but Raheem Okoya has not faced any consequences for his role in the crime.
VeryDarkMan also mentioned that Okoya apologized for what he did, but he insisted that not knowing the law is not a valid reason.
He highlighted his recent arrest for wearing a police uniform, even though he apologized for it.
VeryDarkMan also pointed out that if the law is applied to people like Bobrisky and Cubana Chief Priest for naira abuse, it should be the same for Raheem Okoya.
He stated, “The law in Nigeria is for everyone, whether you’re rich or poor.”
In his remarks, VeryDarkMan talked about the events: “Yesterday, a video became popular that showed Raheem Okoya, a wealthy man’s son, bribing a police officer. Following the video’s spread, they started to mutilate the naira.”
He continued, “First of all, there’s no ignorance in the law. Secondly, the police officer involved in this crime was paid more than his salary, which is why he complied.”
“The police officer was arrested, but the rich man’s son hasn’t been touched. They’ve forced him to apologize, but that’s not enough. There’s no separate law for the rich. If the law is for the poor, it should also apply to the rich.”
As the video became popular online, many worried people went to the comment section to express their opinions.
