The United States International Development Agency Health WorkForce Management (USAID – HWM) project, says it will train 70 indigent girls in health management skills to enhance quality healthcare service delivery at the grassroots.
The Project Coordinator, Mr Robert Bature stated this at a news conference to mark the 2024 World Workers Day, on Tuesday in Bauchi.
The theme for this year is “Invest in Pre service training institutions”.
He said the project had trained 1,200 girl in 2023, to meet up with healthcare demand in Bauchi communities, adding that the gesture was to develop quality human resource to enhance training of health workers and learning aids.
“We have criteria for selection, the girls must be resident in rural communities so that after the training, they would return and serve their communities.

“Bauchi Local Government Area is excluded from the exercise, and beneficiaries must be indigent who could not afford the financial implication to study in any of the right trainings we are supporting in the state,” he said.
Also speaking, Dr Adamu Sambo, the Executive Secretary, Bauchi State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, said that the state government had engaged health volunteers to enhance healthcare service delivery.
“The present administration is working towards recruiting health personnel and volunteers who were engaged for six months,” he said. (NAN)
