Anglican Primate of All Nigeria and Bishop of Abuja, The Most Revd Henry Ndukuba has tasked christian mothers to uphold the aim of Mothers’ Union which include the advancement of the christian religion in the sphere of marriage and family life.
Speaking on Sunday in Abuja at the special service to mark the Enrolment into Mothers’ Union/Women’s Guild at Basilica of Grace Church, Gudu District Abuja, he said mothers have important roles to play in the family.
The Primate who is also the Bishop of Abuja Metropolitan of the Anglican Communion also urged christian mothers to uphold Christ’s teaching on the nature of marriage and to promote its wider understanding.
The man of God also admonished the 80 boys and 75 girls who received their first Holy Communion after their confirmation and laying of hands by the Primate to shun vices which are capable of leading them to sin against the pledge the made to God.
Bishop Ndukuba who admitted both the Confirmation candidates and Mothers Union/ Women’s Guild however called on the Christian faithful especially parents to bring up their children in faith and life of the church.
No fewer than 33 women were admitted into Mothers Union/ Women’s Guild.
