Meanwhile former NFA Chairman and Chairman, Kano State Sports Council, Ahaji Ibrahim Galadima has congratulated the NBBF for taking a bold step in formulating its own Constitution which has helped it towards attaining independence and autonomy to run its affairs according to the regulations of the Olympic Charter.
“’What you have done is remarkable and will serve as a tonic for other Federations to follow suit and have their own constitution to be able to be independent of the sports ministry,” Galadima said, however, adding,”I will advice that you don’t shut your doors against those who walked away from your fold. If they come back you should welcome them so that together you build on the achievements you have recorded so far.”
Alhaji Galadima who spoke during a courtesy call by the former Board of the NBBF, expressed dissatisfaction with the downward turn of events in the sports sector, stressing that “the current leadership in ministry sports is the worst I have seen in a long time. Sports is going down and I pray something is done urgently.”
