Spanish club Villarreal have announced the signing of Ekerette Udom from Nigeria Premier Football League club Rivers United for an undisclosed fee.
Udom penned a two-year contract with the Yellow Submarine.
Prompt News reports that the centre-back will initially play for Villarreal’s B team.
Villarreal announced the centre-back’s arrival on their official website.
“Villarreal FC have reached an agreement with Rivers United for the transfer of young defender Ekerette Udom, who joins Villarreal B’s ranks.”
The 21-year-old featured regularly for Rivers United last season in the CAF Confederation Cup and NPFL.
He previously played for Sunshine Stars and Nasarawa United.
