The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has condemned the reported terrorist attack on innocent villagers in Borno, in which two people died and 20 children were kidnapped.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that terrorists believed to be members of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) stormed Piyemi village near Chibok town on Thursday.
The terrorists killed two men and abducted 13 girls and seven boys.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Monday via Nigeria’s Embassy in the UAE, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC) affirmed that:
”The UAE expresses its strong condemnation of these criminal acts and its permanent rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism that aim to destabilise security and stability in contravention of all humanitarian values and principles.”
MoFAIC expressed its sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims of this heinous crime.
It called for immediate release of the kidnapped children and safe return to their families. (NAN)
