A 34-year-old trader, Musa Kabiru, was on Wednesday arraigned in a Kaduna Chief Magistrates’ Court over alleged theft of a motorcycle.
Kabiru, a resident of Hayin Bakin, Kawo, Kaduna, is standing trial on a two-count charge of conspiracy and theft.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Sunday Baba, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Nov. 2, at 8:00p.m., at Kawo, Kaduna.
Baba said that the defendant and two others at large, stole one Bajaj motorcycle belonging to one Mr Mustapha Liman, while he was on his way to his home from work.
According to him, the offences contravene Sections 59 and 270 of the Penal Code, Laws of Kaduna State, 2017.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Magistrate Hajara Dauda granted him bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
Dauda said that one of the sureties must be a civil servant on Grade Level 06 and above, while the second surety must provide two years’ tax clearance certificate.
She adjourned the case until Dec. 4, for hearing.
