The Integrity Youth Alliance has congratulated the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited GCEO, Dr. Mele Kyari, for being conferred with the Outstanding Employer of the Year Award (2022) by the Trade Union Congress at its maiden edition of the Nigerian Workers’ Dinner/Awards Night held in Abuja.
In a statement by its Board Chairman, Adewole Kehinde, the Coalition said the recognition of Kyari’s outstanding performances had set a benchmark, adding that “Mele Kyari has a history of unionism and activism. He is popularly referred to as ‘Grand Chairman’ by colleagues, friends, and admirers alike because he was once Group Chairman of NNPC PENGASSAN (Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria).”
According to Adewole, the award is a direct confirmation of the tremendous leadership of the NNPCL GCEO.
“Kyari is no stranger to receiving awards due to his service to the oil and gas industry. We commend the Trade Union Congress for recognizing Kyari’s contributions to the development of the oil and gas industry.
“This recognition is a testament to his dedication, hard work, and visionary leadership in shaping the NNPC Limited into a world-class organization that is focused on creating a conducive work environment for its employees, among others.”
He added that the award was a confirmation of Kyari’s leadership excellence.
“We also express our gratitude for the TUC Exemplary Service of the Year Award (2022) bestowed upon the NNPC Command & Control Centre, under the leadership of Engr. Bala Wunti.”
On a final note, the group also commended the hardworking individuals who have tirelessly contributed to bringing the project to fruition.
