Nigerian singer Timi Dakolo has addressed a comment from a troll on microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter) who questioned the affection his wife has for him.
The user, identified as Dickon, reacted to a statement made by Dakolo, in which he mentioned that his wife felt embarrassed when he picked her up in the branded Picanto he won from Nigerian Idol.
He said, “I suffer for this girl hand” is not a flex. Why do Nigerian men paint love as suffering? Who has bewitched you people? Everything about this story is unrequited love.
“Man was working so hard to get her to be with him even though she was embarrassed by him. What is funny about the story?”
In his reply, Dakolo emphasized that his wife has inspired him to improve himself, and they have been together for nearly 15 years. He noted that they now reflect on those earlier experiences with humor.
“Do and tell your own love story as you will,” he added.
