Listen to people discussing, particularly men that have many wives, they are ready to accuse the wives of being too possessive. Women too readily admits to being possessive, with a proviso: “if I love him”. In actual fact, to deny you are not possessive is like convincing yourself that hunger for human needs (sleep, eating, sex and thirst) are not part of your human needs.
Sibling rivalry is not too far from Possessiveness. A woman gossiping about another is not far from jealousy. If she possess what the other woman possesses, she will not even notice her existence. In the case of children and women, possessiveness leads to jealousy and could be managed by the parents or husband as the case may be. If properly managed, being possessive is a positive force, if mismanaged, it grows to jealousy, jealousy grows to envy and envy ultimately destroy the person that is envious.
It is very simple to label the Senior among your children wicked for beating the tiny tot on the mother’s bed. The Bed that originally belong to mother and child before the new arrival berthed. It is also very easy to be surprised at the woman that reserves her cooperation when sought for the additional wife for her husband. Not until you meet a possessive Man will you know what jealousy is all about. The possessiveness of the Male specie also leads to jealous of the Male and this could be more virulent and vociferous if you encounter one!
Notice the political terrain, if it is not about godfather, it is about a junior politician trying to outplay a senior politician and the senior politician or the godson / goddaughter fighting for survival. The King will always be possessive of power and might be jealous of of a popular chief or the King maker that commands followership. All of these is out of power possession, which in reality is the exclusive of Allah(s.w.t). That is why in the Majesty of Allah s.w.t, all power and Majesty belongs to Him, He neither share it with anyone nor delegate His Authority to anyone.
Let me remind you of the statement of the Messenger of Allah concerning Possessiveness:
“Your Creator is even more Possessive and He has forbid you from associating partners with Him”.
Resolving the issue of possessiveness: Muslim
Volume 9, Book 93, Number 512: Narrated Al-Mughira: Sa’d bin ‘Ubada said,
‘If I saw a man with my wife,
I would strike him (behead him) with the blade of my sword.’
This news reached Allah’s Apostle who then said,
‘You people were astonished at Sa’d’s Ghira?
By Allah, I have more Ghira than he, and
Allah has more Ghira than I, and because of Allah’s Ghira,
He has made unlawful Shameful deeds and sins (illegal sexual intercourse and abnormal sexual intercourse. etc.) done in open and in secret.
> And there is none who likes that the people should repent to Him and beg His pardon than Allah, and
> For this reason, He sent the warners and the givers of good news.
> And there is none who likes to be praised more than Allah does, and
> For this reason, Allah promised to grant Paradise (to the doers of good).’
> ‘Abdul Malik said, ‘No person has more Ghira than Allah.’
>
> 50:15. Were We then tired with the first creation? Nay, They are in confused doubt about a new creation (i.e. Resurrection)?
> For you to be a Muslim, you have six Articles of Faith
> Belief in existence of the Supreme Being Allah
> Belief in the sending of Apostles, Adam , Noah, Ibrahim, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad
> Belief in Angels, as Messenger of Allah
> Belief in Revealation, the Qur’an as the Last Testament
> Belief in Destiny, whether good or otherwise
> Belief in the Day of Resurrection and Judgment
>
> Let every Man with his senses ponder over this question raised for him by the Glorious Qur’an:
> Were We then tired with the first creation?
> Your conception, to delivery and nurturing you till date is miraculous
> Allah brought together two souls from different homes and mentality
> Both claim they were in Love! How does it happen?
> Allah says He is never tired of bringing you to the world
> Nay, Will removing you be a big deal?
> You will leave the world whether you like it or not.
> Whoever comes in should know he has to leave sometime
> You are a visitor to the earth and you will leave the world someday
> Then you will be questioned about your Faith and other acts of yours
>
> “They are in confused doubt about a new creation (i.e. Resurrection)?”
>
> 50:16. And indeed We have created man, and We know what his ownself whispers to him. And We are nearer to him than his jugular vein (by Our Knowledge).
>
> For you to be proper and accurate in your thinking
> Ask yourself: who is my creator
> If you can truly answer that what you are worshipping is your creator
> Then you are on track
> Then can you pray to die by the means of your worship when your time is up? If no, then you are off track!
> Hear the True Creator of all when He says:
> “Truly, We created you”
> He knows what is also going on in your mind by His Omniscience Knowledge
> He is nearer to you than your jugular vein!
> Meaning that you have no where to hide!
>
> Remember That Surplus Reside With Allah:
> Volume 9, Book 93, Number 508:Narrated Abu Huraira:
> Allah’s Apostle said, ‘Allah’s Hand is full, and
> (its fullness) is not affected by the continuous spending, day and night’.
> He (p.b.u.h) also said,
> ‘Do you see what He(s.w.t) has spent since He(s.w.t) created the Heavens and the Earth?
> Yet all that has not decreased what is in His Hand.’
>
> Take a pause here and ponder on those that are postulating when the common wealth of the earth will disappear or fighting over what they know not when it gets into the belly of the earth? All mineral resource comes from Allah and other resource will still follow if Mankind show gratitude to Him!
>
> The Prophet s.a.w continue…
> He also said, ‘His Throne is over the waters and in
> His other Hand is the balance (of Justice) and
He raises and lowers (whomever He will).’
Point to ponder:
50:17. (Remember!) that the two receivers (recording angels) receive (each human being after he or she has attained the age of puberty), one sitting on the right and one on the left (to note his or her actions) .
In Islam, there is no original Sin. No burden of Adam on the Mankind
Adam has been forgiven his error
The Day a Lady sees her first menses, the Angel start recording her deeds
The Day a young Man discharges the first semen, he too is being recorded
50:18. Not a word does he (or she) utter, but there is a watcher by him ready (to record it).
All tricks, politics, back-stabbing, etc are for personal’survival’!:
50:19. And the stupor of death will come in truth: “This is what you have been avoiding!”
25. “Hinderer of good, transgressor, doubter,
50:26. “Who set up another ilah (god – human, beauty, material passion etc) with Allah, then (both of you) cast him in the severe torment.”
When Satan will disown you: The big disclaimer!
50:27. His companion (Satan devil)) will say: “Our Lord! I did not push him to transgress, (in disbelief, oppression, and evil deeds) but he was himself in error far astray.”
Satan and his companion will be quieted:
50:28. Allah will say: “Dispute not in front of Me, I had already, in advance, sent you the threat.
You reap what you sow: 50:29. The Sentence that comes from Me cannot be changed, and I am not unjust (to the least) to the slaves.”
The Essence of Life is to know that you should work on your possessive tendency, be aware that Allah, the Creator of the heavens and the. earth has absolute possession of all thinks and when partner is associated with Him, He does not spare the culprit. Think about it.
