The State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) in Oyo State, says no fewer than 52,423 people have submitted applications through its job application portal.
The Executive Chairman, SUBEB, Dr Nureni Adeniran, disclosed this on Thursday while speaking with newsmen in Ibadan.
Adeniran, however, said that the job application portal had been closed after the elapse of the two-week deadline.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that SUBEB had on June 25, announced the opening of the job application portal for recruitment of 7,000 primary school teachers and 100 caregivers for special schools across the state.
Adeniran, however, said that the board was impressed by the response, adding that it showed that people were truly keen and excited to work with the SUBEB.
“But we are compelled to close the portal, as the July 9th deadline has passed”, he said.
Adeniran also disclosed that the board had started sorting out the applications to pick suitable qualified candidates who would be contacted soon.
He cautioned all applicants to be wary of fake news on the ongoing recruitment process and advised them to regularly check their emails and phones for more information on the next steps.
“After the applications are sorted, the next stage will be the computer based test examination.
“The date, venue and time schedule for candidates will be sent to them through their email and phone numbers”, the chairman said.(NAN).
