Supreme Court Friday ordered the removal of Taraba State Acting Governor, Umar Garba.
The ruling follows a suit brought before it by the sacked Deputy Governor, Abubakar Danladi, challenging his impeachment by Taraba State House of Assembly.
Prompt News recalls that Danladi was impeached by the lawmakers in 2012 having found him guilty of gross misconduct and engaging in private businesses.
Consequently, he had approached a Federal High Court in Taraba, which ruled against him that the impeachment process was in order.
Danladi challenged the High Court ruling at the Court of Appeal, which also upheld the ruling of the Federal High Court, contending that his impeachment was in line with the provisions of the Section 188 of the constitution and therefore, dismissed it for lacking in merit.
