PDP stakeholders from the North-West Zone have expressed their confidence and total support for the leadership of President Goodluck Jonathan.
The stakeholders made the declaration in a press release issued after they paid a courtesy call on the Vice President Mohammed Namadi Sambo yesterday in Hassan Usman Katsina House Kaduna.
They comprises of party Chieftains from the National Working Committee of the Party, State and Zonal EXCO, Party elders, legislators and members of state and federal executives, from Kano, Zamfara and Sokoto states.
However, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, who is from the zone, was conspicuously absent.
The stakeholders, who stated they were in Kaduna to felicitate with the Vice President on the occasion of the year 2014 and to brief him on the political situation in their various states, expressed their willingness to “further develop more strategies and tactics so as to forge a common front to ensure peaceful political activities and compliance to due process.”
The press statement, which was read by Ambassador Aminu Wali from Kano State, reads in part:
“After the briefing with the Vice President all stakeholders unanimously:
1. “Express our confidence in the leadership of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and declare our unalloyed support to Mr. President and his administration;
2. Express our unshaken belief in the unity and indivisibility of the Federal Republic of Nigeria;
3. Reiterate our total support and loyalty to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the National Working Committee (NWC);
4. Agreed to work assiduously to promote peace and unity among members of the PDP and ensure the sustainable growth of the party in our states as well as its success in future elections;
5. Express appreciation to the vice president, His Excellency Arc Mohammed Namadi Sambo, GCON, for granting us audience to discuss issues germane to the progress of the party in the zone;
6. Call on our teeming supporters to remain calm and focused and to continue to work for the greatest party in Africa, which is the party to beat;”

The Vice President thanked the delegation for the visit and urged them to sustain the tempo in ensuring that the party waxes stronger in the zone.
