A former Special Adviser on Protocol Matters in Bayelsa State, Lucky Yeubogha, has defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Yeubogha, who served as Special Adviser on Protocol Matters to former Governor Timipre Sylva, attributed his decision to quit APC to irreconcilable differences and faulty ideology of the party.
Speaking with reporters in Yenagoa, Yeubogha, said he defected alongside about 1,000 members of his socio-political group called ‘Great Sagbama House’.
According to a letter of resignation addressed to APC Interim Chairman in the State, Tiwei Orunimigha and his former boss, Timipre Sylva as Party Leader, Yeubogha, said the decision to dump the party was taken after due consultation with his political associates.
“The decision was based on the need for me to support a base that will continue to engender the progress of our dear state and the Country.
“It is right to state that the devil you know is better than the angel you do not know.
“I have come to find out that there would be no change. I am back to my true Party, the PDP.I didn’t not leave the Party because of crises over ward or local government congresses.
“But left when I discovered that the party was based on political gamble,” he said.
Youbogha also denied claim that he left APC because of the fallout of the just concluded party congresses at the wards and local governments.
