Suspected killer of the Nasarawa state chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Philip Tatari Shekwo has been arrested by personnel of the Nigeria Police.
The state governor, Abdullahi Sule made the announcement during an Employability and Entrepreneurship Programme and job fair for Nasarawa State Youth, held in Lafia, on Tuesday.
“Just about ten minutes ago, I was informed that Mr Mohammed Usman, also known as Bappa Lora, a notorious kidnapper in Nasarawa state has been arrested and has confessed that he was the killer of the state APC chairman”.
According to Sule, the notorious bandit and kidnapper was arrested in Assakio village, Lafia local government area of the state.
Governor Sule commended the commissioner of police, Bola Longe and the entire police force in the state for their tireless effort in ensuring that the culprits are brought to book.
PROMPT NEWS recalls that the late Nasarawa state chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Mr Philip Tatari Shekwo was kidnapped around 11pm on Saturday, 21st October, 2020 by heavily armed men numbering about 20.
Mr. Shekwo’s lifeless body was found around 2pm on Sunday, in a nearby bush few meters away from his residence near Dunamis Church, Bukan Sidi in Lafia, the state capital.
