German authorities have detained a man on suspicion of planning a machete attack on soldiers in Bavaria, prosecutors in Munich said on Friday.
The 27-year-old suspected Islamist from Syria is accused of planning to kill soldiers in the town of Hof, in the north-eastern part of Bavaria.
He had already brought the weapons he intended to use in the attack, prosecutors said.
Police officers detained the man in the Hof region.
