Super Falcons are mentally and physically prepared to beat Banyana, Banyana on Wednesday to reach the final of the African Women Championship, Nigeria’s coach Edwin Okon has said.
Speaking at the official pre match conference on Tuesday, Okon said that the Falcons are poised to play and avoid a repeat of the unfortunate loss to South Africa two years ago in Equatorial Guinea.
“We have prepared well for this game and I can assure you that we shall give this match all it takes to beat them and qualify for final. We have trained to a point of pain and cannot lose again to South Africa. My girls are mentally and physically prepared for this battle
“I know the stakes are higher now than then because the women world cup qualification tickets is attached to it. We know South Africa will be tough but we shall be tougher.
“Our policy is to take each as it comes, that is one game at a time. We are focus and raring to let our game do the talking for us on the pitch. We want to reclaim the title we lost two years and restore our pride
He continued “I don’t have any injury worries in my team and I am happy that I have the full compliments of players to pick for the game against South Africa. The standard here has been high and any of the four teams left in the championship will represent Africa well”
