Super Falcons duo of Desire Oparanozie and Chinaza Uchendu may play their club football in the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) if no foreign club comes forward to sign them following their inability to continue their professional football career abroad.
Oparanozie who captained Nigeria’s Super Falcons to the Round of 16 in the 2019 FIFA Women World Cup final in France has ended her romance with the French top women football club, Evant Guignamp , a team she even captained during the 2019/20 football season. The former junior international who claimed that she opted to leave Evant Guignamp after a long stint has howerver hinted close associates that she will not mind to play in the domestic league again if no new suitors show interest in the forthcoming international transfer window.
Another Super Falcons star, Chinaza Uchendu has also ended her affairs with a Portuguese Feminin Primers team, FC Braga after just two years in the capital club. The leftfooted attacker was declared excess to requirement by FC Braga chieftains just before the restart of football after Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic forced every country to shutdown businesses including football since March.
It follows that both Super Falcons players will have to make hard decisions and quickly too before the restart of football activities across the world even as to play in the local leaque will be their best option to stay relevant and to have any chance of being invited to the national team ahead of the next international competition.
