With three months to the expiration of his current coaching contract with Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr is sure of continuing on the job.
This much has been confirmed by both the employee and the employers, in this case Rohr and NFF, hence both are working in harmony to ensure that the Super Eagles’ back to back African Cup of Nations AFCON 2021 qualifier matches against Sierra Leone this March are not derailed by contract negotiations.
Prompt News has exclusively gathered from persons involved in the Rohr/NFF Contract negotiating teams that the gray areas in the contract have almost been resolved with both sides mindful of the backlash of any last minute capitulation.
According to multiple sources who should know, “Gernot (Rohr) is contracted to Nigeria till the end of June. Talks are ongoing to extend this ( contract). I believe all is well. There is nothing to worry about”.
Meanwhile, the Franco- German football tactician who is currently in France is expected to arrive Nigeria this week just as he is slated to have a closed door discussion with the NFF hierarchy to among other things plan how to approach the two AFCON 2021 qualifier matches against Sierra Leone in Asaba, Delta state on March 27 and Freetown on March 30 respectively.
