By Harry Awurumibe No fewer than five players of Sunshine Stars FC of Akure have been invited by Super Eagles Head Coach, Sunday Oliseh, preparatory to camping ahead of the Confederation of African Football Championship (CHAN) billed for Rwanda in early January 2016.
The players are goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa; defender Stephen Eze; midfielder Paul Onobi and strikers Tunde Adeniji and Prince Aggrey.
Also, Oliseh called up four players each from Warri Wolves namely goalkeeper Okemuta Odah; defender Austin Oboroakpo; midfielder Bartholomew Ibenegbu and striker Gbolahan Fuad Salami as well as four Enugu Rangers players led by defenders Kalu Orji Okagbue and Mathew Etim and midfielders Osas Okoro and Christain Madu..
The Eagles handler handed invitation to two players each from Heartland International of Owerri in goalkeeper David Obiozor and veteran midfielder Julius Ubido while Enyimba FC is represented by goalkeeper Olufemi Thomas and striker Ezekiel Bassey just as Shooting Stars contributed Defender Jamiu Alimi and midfielder Ibrahim Salawa Attah.
The rest of the players will come from Abia Warriors, Giwa FC, El Kanemi Warriors, FC Ifeanyiuba, FC Taraba, Sharks FC and Nasarawa United respectively.
According to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Head of Communications, Ademola Olajire all the invited players have been directed to report at the Bolton White Apartments, Wuse Zone 7, Abuja on Monday, December 14, 2015.
Nigeria won the bronze medal at the last Championship held in South Africa in early 2014. The 4th edition in Rwanda will hold from January 16 and February 7, 2016.
The Super Eagles B has already been drawn into Group C of the competition alongside Niger Republic, Tunisia and Guinea, with matches to be played at the Stade Regional Nyamirambo in Kigali.
