The first meeting of the National Council of State for 2014 will hold Tuesday at the Council Chambers of the State House, Abuja.
The meeting will be presided over by President Goodluck will also have Vice President Namadi Sambo in attendance.
All former Heads of State, Senate President, House Speaker; State Governors; Minister of Justice; past and serving Chief Justices of Nigeria are members of the council and are expected to attend.
Meanwhile, President Jonathan held the weekly National Security Council meeting with the new Service Chiefs in attendance on Monday. However, there was no briefing after the meeting.
This followed their confirmation by the Senate last week as stipulated in the constitution.
President Jonathan had on January 16, 2001, relieved the erstwhile service chiefs of their appointments with the exception of the then Chief Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh who has been elevated to the position of Chief of Defence Staff (CDS).
The new Service Chiefs are: Chief of Army Staff, Major-General Kenneth Tobiah Jacob Minimah; Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Usman Jibrin; and Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Adesola Nunayon Amosu.
Other members of the council in attendance were the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar; Attorney General of the Federation, Bello Adoke; Minister of the Interior, Abba Moro; and Director-General of the Department of State Security, Ita Ekpeyong; and his counterpart at the National Intelligence Agency, Ayo Oke were also at the meeting
