Some students of St Ita’s Girls Grammar School Sapele (SIOGA) who are based in Abuja have celebrated this year’s Christmas party in grand style.
It was fun galore at School Christmas and end of the year party, which took place at the 7th option park and leisure center in Abuja.
In her opening remarks, the Chairperson, St ita’s Old Girls Association Abuja chapter, Mrs Cecilia Saduwa Isibor stressed the significance of Christmas as a season of showing kindness in gift-giving to families, friends and especially to the less fortunate ones and needy in the society.
Mrs Isibor who charged all not to concentrate only on wining and dining but also remember to imbibe the spirit of the joy and real meanings of Christmas by donating to the poor and pursue peace, which Jesus Christ preached when He was on earth. Stressed that Jesus is the reason for the season.
On her part, the Chairman of the Welfare Committee of SIOGA Abuja chapter, Mrs Rita Koguonye Nwoko who was online from the United States of America said it was a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, to proclaim His loving kindness in the morning and His faithfulness every night.
“We thank God for bringing us to the end of this year. Also, for the fact that last year, we could not gather physically, it means therefore that now we are overcoming the war against COVID-19″, Mrs Nwoko added.
Shining brightly in their Christmas costumes of red, white and gold, the children’s efforts were greeted with loud ovations and cheers and It was indeed an exciting day for all present.
One of the highlights of the occasion was a dancing Competition by the kids, parents and presentation depicting the birth of the Lord Jesus and the meaning of the Season.
There were also games for the children, while the adults amused themselves with stories down memory lane.
The occasion was fun-filled and colourful and the party is one of the avenues provided to enable the old girls, their husbands and kids interact and bond together and there was family game between parents and kids to show how much they know each other.
The aim is to create a relaxed and convivial atmosphere, where all can have fun and unwind. And no effort is spared to ensure that everyone goes home with a wonderful experience, while looking forward to the event the next year.
This is the first time the old Students of the St ita’s Girls Grammar School Sapele is organizing a Christmas and end of the year party.
