The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) issued certificates of Mandatory Conformity Assessment Programme (MANCAP) to 102 companies operating in Kano.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that the certificates were issued to the companies for meeting set production standards.
The companies included Executing Industry, Alfa block Industry, Bettle Water, Nasiya Trading Limited, Aspira Nigeria limited, Wisdom Nigeria Limited, Skyworld Nigeria limited.
Others were Sharad Block Industry, Maryam Block industry, Guarantee Fertilisers Limited.
SON’s Director-General, Malam Faruk Salim, said at the ceremony that MANCAP was a scientific approach to ensure that all steps in production complied with standards.
The DG, who was represented by Regional Director, Mr Albert Wilberforce, said the companies products had been tested and had met the necessary standards.
He said MANCAP certificate was renewable after every three years.
According to him, the products are safe and have good qualities.
“The more this companies expand, it will reduce unemployment in the country and minimize insecurity.
“Every human being deserves a life of decency; when you have a stable source of income that is legitimate, criminality will reduce,” he said.
Salim further explained that soon MANCAP products would be exported and accepted globally.
Representative of one of the companies who spoke on behalf of others, Maryam Isa, thanked SON for the certificates and promised that the companies would continue to improve and add more value to the products’ quality. (NAN)
