Nigerian skit maker and actress, Olukemi Niyi-Aluko, popularly known as Diva Gold, said that social media is a very toxic space and she believes that partners should keep their romantic relationship off social media if they cannot withstand the backlash they would get.
Diva Gold said this to Saturday Beats while responding to a question on whether she believes in public displays of affection.
The skit maker said, “I believe in it because I want my man to love me openly without thinking of what people would say. That was my opinion before I got into the industry, but now, I have realised that social media is very toxic.
“It will even get more toxic to the point that people might not want anybody to know anything about them on social media. Social media is a killer of good things, and I will not allow that to happen to me.”

Speaking on the challenges she currently faces as a content creator, Gold said, “As a content creator, the tough state of the economy affects me. My editors and videographers also stress me (laughs).
“Due to financial constraints, I cannot afford to pay bigger editors and videographers who will deliver my productions early enough.
“Some of my colleagues shared similar concerns when I recently shared my experience on my YouTube channel.”
