Members of the Class ’96 State High School, Oyewole, Agege Lagos State were in boisterous mood as they gathered again to celebrate their biennial get-together.
The activities started with a visit to the House of Mercy Children’s Home on Friday, December 9.
The welfare director of the association, Olajide Blessing led other members to the orphanage home.
Food items including rice, noodles and groundnut oil were doled out to the children and their guardian.
They also took their time to play with the children, who were happy to have them around.
The activities continued with a novelty match between the SHSO’ 95 and SHSO’ 96 set at their alma mater’s football pitch the following day.
It was time to relive old memories as a large number of the old student stepped on the pitch for the first time in over 26 years.
The game ended 2-1 in favour of the 96 set.
The biennial party held at the Olumo Hall of the Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja witnessed a large turnout.
The major highlight of the biennial party was the election of new officers that will run the affairs of the association for the next two years.
Fadairo Josiah Abiodun emerged the new president of the association after beating Ajayi Simpa in a keenly contested election.
Other elected executive members are; Blessing Olajide (Vice- President), Wale Edun (General Secretary), Adeyinka Afolabi (Welfare Director), Adeboye Amosu (Publicity Secretary) and Jubril Ogunfemi (Treasurer/Financial Secretary.
