By Olusegun Lawrence Angered by the way and manner the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) dumped them during the primaries, no fewer than seven members of the Senate have dumped the party for the opposition parties.
The concerned Senators are: Atiku Bagudu, Barnabas Gemade, Bassey Otu, Helen Esuene, Nurudeen Abatemi, Mohammed Magoro and Ita Enag, have either defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), Labour Party (LP), All progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) or Peoples Progressives Alliance (PPA).
Prompt News gathered that the Senators are not happy the the leadership of the PDP allowed their governors to dictate the direction of the primaries which favoured them.
Atiku Bagudu Abubakar and Mohammed Magoro, will now run for the Senate under the APC.
A former National Chairman of the PDP, Barnabas Gemade, whose ticket has been hijacked by Governor Gabriel Suswam, will now confront him (the Governor) under the APC.
Also, Senator Helen Esuene, is among the G22 that had vowed to dump the ruling party in Akwa-Ibom state if the party fails to resolve the crisis rocking the state.
Bassey Otu will run under the Labour Party in Cross Rivers, Nurudeen Abatemi has also picked PPA senatorial ticket of Kogi east in Kogi state.
