ABUJA – The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, has put in place new security arrangement at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja.
The new security arrangement is being put in place ahead of the Security Summit holding in Nigeria’s capital, Abuja, on Saturday, May 14, 2016.
President Francois Hollande of France and representatives of the United States, United Kingdom, European Union and some neighbouring Heads of State are expected to attend.
Consequently, FAAN has alerted the general public that there might be traffic increase at the Airport.
According to the spokesperson for FAAN, Yakubu Dati, “The new security network was put in place to ensure water-tight security in and around the airport.
“It is expected that this might cause some delays as the new measures would increase the time needed to complete security checks on airport users.
“The Authority therefore advises intending air passengers to make early arrangements for their travels and to leave home early on their travel dates, in order to complete their boarding facilities in good time.
“FAAN will not relent in its commitment to ensuring adequate security and safety at all airports in the country in accordance with the recommendation of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).”
