The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 2,000 officers and men to ensure adequate security before, during and after the forthcoming Eid-el-Kabir celebration in Kwara.
This is contained in a statement issied to newsmen by the Command’s Spokesman, Mr Ayeni Olasunkanmi, to newsmen on Friday in Ilorin.
It stated that the Acting Commandant, DCC Jonah Gabriel, ordered the deployment of personnel across the 16 local government areas of the state to ensure a hitch-free celebration.
The commandant felicitated with the Muslim faithful in the state for witnessing another Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
He emphasised that the personnel were strategically deployed to secure lives and properties of residents of the state throughout thecfestive period and beyond.
Ayeni appealed to the populace to be vigilant and report any suspicious movement around them to security agents.
He urged the people to be peaceful and moderate in their celebration in order not to allow any security breach.
The spokesman enjoyed parents to caution their children not to exhibit any overzealousness in their celebration as the corps would not entertain any act that could threaten the security of the state.
He prayed for a peaceful and prosperous Eid-el-Kabir celebration. (NAN)
