Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has congratulated a former Minister of Works, Sen. Adeseye Ogunlewe, on his 80th birth anniversary.
Sanwo-Olu, in a congratulatory message on Tuesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Gboyega Akosile, described Ogunlewe, a chieftain of All Progressives Congress(APC), as a vibrant politician.
He said that the Senator, who represented Lagos East Senatorial District in the third Senate, was an epitome of dedication and selflessness in public service, party politics and governance.
According to him, Sen. Ogunlewe, who is also a member of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), the highest decision-making body in Lagos APC, has made great impact in Lagos politics in the last three decades.
”Sen. Ogunlewe is a seasoned politician and an administrator, who has used his positions for the development of Lagos State and Nigeria at various times,” he said.
The governor said that the APC chieftain contributed immensely to the growth and development of Lagos State as Permanent Secretary, senator and minister.
”On behalf of my wife and family, the government and people of Lagos State as well as members of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), leaders and members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), I congratulate Sen. Adeseye Ogunlewe, on the auspicious occasion of his 80th birthday.
”It is with great delight that I join Sen. Ogunlewe’s family, friends and political associates to celebrate his 80th birthday.
”Sen. Ogunlewe deserves to be celebrated on his 80th birthday as his contributions to the growth and development of our dear Lagos State are innumerable, having served the state passionately as Permanent Secretary, elected Senator and as Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
”As Sen. Ogunlewe joins the octogenarian club, it is my prayer that the Almighty God will continue to bestow on him good health.
”He will witness many more fruitful years of continuous service to humanity, his community, Lagos and our dear country, Nigeria,” he said. (NAN). READ ALSO:
