The Director of Competition at the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Mohammed Sanusi has advocated early camping and adequate preparation for the Super Falcons ahead of the African Women Championship (AWC) qualifiers and the championship proper.
In a chat with Prompt News Online, Mr. Sanusi said the recent Falcons two legged loss to Japan in a friendly is a wake-up call for the Federation to kick- start Falcons’ preparation immediately.
“After the last AWC, Falcons are in a rebuilding process and I can say that we are not disappointed at the result of the games but we expected a better performance and I believe it is a wake-up call for us to go back to drawing board.
“That it is why it is always good to have friendly matches where you will look at area of your strength and weaknesses. These two legged friendly match is important to us and we did not lose anything playing them”
“With what we have seen, it is a very strong signal to us that we need to start preparation for Falcons in good time because whatever we do will determine how far we go in AWC”
Sanusi however, said he prayed the technical department gives the go ahead for early camping so that the coaching crew will have enough time to tinker a good team that Nigerians will be proud of.
