Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Peter Rufai says the current goalies in the team deserves support despite their poor form.
The 60-year-old however acknowledged concerns over the team’s goalkeeping situation.
Francis Uzoho and Maduka Okoye have failed to inspire confidence with their recent performance.
Uzoho was beaten by Walter Musona’s stunning long-range free-kick in Super Eagles’ 1-1 draw with Zimbabwe last Sunday.
Fellow keeper Maduka Okoye also came under the spotlight after Nigeria’s quarter-final exit from the 2021 Nations Cup, a 1-0 defeat by Tunisia. READ ALSO:

“Yes, we have a goalkeeping problem, but it’s not that we don’t have quality goalkeepers,” Rufai told BBC Sports Africa.
“They need to be courageous, they must be strong and not let the criticisms demoralise them. The entire team should rise up to the occasion.”
