By Olusegun Lawrence Angered by the maltreatment of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal by security operatives, the All Progressives Congress members in the House rough handled the Senate President, David Mark, on Thursday.
After announcing the shutting down of the National Assembly at the Senate plenary, Mark had gone to the House to inform the leadership to shut down.
But, APC legislators lost their cool as they assaulted the Senate President who doubles as the Chairman of the National Assembly.
Meanwhile, the House has gone into a closed door session as Speaker Tambuwal eventually found his way into the Chamber despite the harassment by security operatives earlier in the day.
Following the defection of the Speaker to the APC, the ruling PDP had asked him to vacate his seat as Speaker.
But, both Tambuwal and his party, APC insisted he would not resign , saying he has not in any way violated the constitution.
