Frenchman Herve Renard has revealed he was close to accepting offer from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to manage the Super Eagles.
Renard was among the coaches rumoured to be in the running for the Super Eagles head coach role.
The former Cote d’Ivoire gaffer said he would have accepted the offer but for some little details.
“I almost went to Nigeria. I thought about it for a few days, even weeks, before deciding to say no,”Renard said in an interview with L’Equipe.
“It was the best offer I’ve had so far, but the other details didn’t suit me.”
Augustine Eguavoen is currently in charge of the team on interim basis.
