Former Super Eagles head coach, Sunday Oliseh lauded the Atlas Lions of Morocco after their victory against Portugal on Saturday, reports Prompt News.
The Atlas Lions made history as the first African team to secure a place in the semi-final of the World Cup after a thrilling 1-0 win against Portugal at the Al Thumama Stadium, Doha.
Sevilla forward, Youssef En-Nesyri scored the winning goal in the 42nd minute.
Portugal fought hard to level scores after the break but Morocco produced a resolute defensive performance to win the contest.
“After 48 years of trying Morocco has made Africa into world superpower status in football.
“Ecstatic & privileged to be here at Al Thumama Stadium to witness Morocco do it.
“Wifey jokingly predicted this when she came to Qatar! Guess our wives are always right after all,” Oliseh wrote on his Twitter handle.
The North Africans will face France in the World Cup semi-finals on Wednesday at the Al Bayt Stadium.
