Chelsea bounced back from last weekend’s defeat to Liverpool by claiming a hard-fought 2-1 win over Newcastle United at Stamford.
Nicolas Jackson scored the curtain raiser in the 18th minute following a sweeping counter-attack initiated by Cole Palmer.
Newcastle equalised against the run of play, when Alexander Isak converted a cross by former Chelsea defender Lewis Hall in the 32nd minute.
Cole Palmer restored the Blues the lead barely a minute into the second half.
Prompt News reports that it was Palmer’s seventh league goal of the campaign.
The win pushed Enzo Maresca’s side up to fourth place on the league table.
